"PIDVE: The Culturally-Rooted Companion of LOESS"

The University of Ss. Cyril and Methodius has obtained financial support from Slovakia’s National Recovery and Resilience Plan to enhance the impact of the LOESS project (Literacy Boost through an Operational Educational Ecosystem of Societal Actors on Soil Health) both within the institution and beyond. Within the university, the plan is to foster interdisciplinarity, particularly by involving faculties that are not currently participating in the LOESS project.

The multidisciplinary project Soil in the Mirror of Interdisciplinary Science (PIDVE) builds upon the LOESS project, which analyzes soil curricula in 17 European countries and proposes or tests new models of soil education.

PIDVE complements this with new scientific knowledge and Slovak historical-ethnological contexts. It identifies information and visuals that influence brain activity and emotions, offering attractive opportunities for modern education. Various forms of visualization, virtual reality simulations, and exhibitions will promote interest in, and the comprehensibility of, scientific information for different target groups. The project will also develop examples of good practices in ecotourism and ecological soil remediation.

In conclusion, PIDVE will integrate education, research, and public awareness of soil and its importance for community relations and sustainability.
