The LOESS questionnaire aimed at educators is ready

The online survey created by the Austrian partner of the Consortium has been launched. Its goal is to identify the existing barriers and needs related to soil education: how and whether topics related to soil health are taught in Europe. The project’s overarching aim is to raise awareness and enhance competencies related to soil health.

The questionnaire is aimed at educators (primary, secondary, higher education, vocational trainers, and those involved in extracurricular educational offerings) who have a connection to scientific content (geography, biology, sustainability, agriculture, etc.). Students who are currently teaching are also part of the target group.

The identification and verification of the factors highlighted in the survey will enable LOESS to develop robust mechanisms that engage learners in a course or, alternatively, enable education providers to overcome barriers and address identified needs.

Each LOESS CoP will share the survey with its audiences, and the results will be gathered by the end of May. Based on the results, learning opportunities and teaching materials will be developed. The findings will also contribute to the results of the focus groups, interviews, and desk research.

The questionnaire is anonymous and will take approximately 20 minutes to complete.
