The LOESS project successfully held its 6th Consortium Meeting online from 24–26 November 2025, bringing together its 20 partners from 16 different countries. The meeting focused primarily on the final phase of the project, including the preparation of the SOIL Atlas and the upcoming period of intensified dissemination activities.

Across several reflection sessions, partners highlighted the strong cohesion within the consortium as a key factor in achieving the ambitious set of tools developed throughout the project. At the same time, participants acknowledged a degree of pressure as they approach major upcoming milestones — notably the Final High Symposium scheduled for 8 May 2026.

Meeting Programme Overview

Day 1 – 24 November
The first day opened with a welcome by WILA, followed by reporting sessions on the various work packages. WP1 and WP7 updates were presented by WILA, WP2 by AMU, WP5 by UNISS, WP4 by CPN, WP3 by VA, and WP6 by ACUP. The day concluded with a wrap-up session.

Day 2 – 25 November
Day 2 focused on in-depth discussions. After an initial welcome, VA led a comprehensive session on WP3 and the development of the Soil Atlas. AMU and VA jointly explored stakeholder and Community of Practice involvement. Further deep-dive sessions covered campaigning activities under WP4 (led by CPN) and the planning of the final conference and related dissemination efforts under WP6 (led by ACUP). WILA wrapped up the day’s discussions.

Day 3 – 26 November
The final day began with a recap of Day 2, followed by planning discussions led by WUR on the EIG. WILA presented updates on KPIs and risk management, and UNISS delivered an in-depth session on Policy Brief #2 under WP5. The day continued with a review of the project’s accelerated timeline and concluded with a session on cross-collaboration with CurioSoil on the Policy Workshop.

The 6th Consortium Meeting reaffirmed the consortium’s commitment to delivering impactful outcomes as LOESS enters its final stretch. With significant deliverables approaching, the project partners remain aligned and motivated to ensure the success of this last phase.
