The Aephoria Network is a Greek SME established in 2013, which focuses on sustainable-business education and acts as an incubation programme for startup companies. Its mission is to attract innovative ideas and nurture a new generation of entrepreneurs dedicated to creating businesses that positively impact the environment, economy, and society, guided by the principles of sustainable development.
Objective
The primary objective of the Aephoria incubator programme is to foster a thriving ecosystem for innovative businesses, particularly in the realms of responsible Social Entrepreneurship, with a focus on the Green and Blue Economy sectors.
Approach
Aephoria’s entrepreneurship for youth initiatives target young entrepreneurs aim to enhance employment opportunities in Greece. Through tailored consulting services focusing on the “triple bottom line,” young entrepreneur teams receive support, including fully equipped office space, comprehensive business training, and access to a network of experienced mentors, to help accelerate their business ideas.
In 2017, Aephoria’s Blue Growth initiative received the “URBACT Good Practice City” award by URBACT, the EU’s program for city learning and exchange, for its excellent promotion of entrepreneurship and innovation in the maritime economy. It has also received a number of Greek and other International awards.
By combining training, mentoring, and networking opportunities, Aephoria endeavours to cultivate a new wave of sustainable businesses, contributing to economic growth while addressing societal and environmental challenges.
