CoP Lithuania

On October 27th, 2023, Social Innovation Institute organised the first meeting of the Lithuanian LOESS Community of Practice (CoP) for soil health education. The meeting took place online and included 9 members from different places on the country. The CoP aims to bring together different actors from different sectors working on soil related issues to discuss on the state of soil health education and insights on its development, and to build a network of practitioners in the field that can add to successful dissemination and uptake of materials and innovations created within the LOESS project. 

The Lithuanian LOESS CoP for soil health education involves experts from different disciplines and sectors, including scientists, teachers, farmers, representatives of NGOs and other organisations. The participants of the first meeting were:  Radvilė Rimgailė-Voicik, plant scientist; Vaiva Marozienė, landscape designer and lecturer; Eglė Kunigonienė, secondary school science teacher; Evelina Šimkutė, artist and representative of NGO “Nature in the City”;  Rūta Lukošiūnaitė, education manager of NGO “Nature in the City”; Ieva Misiūnė, social geographer; Snieguolė Bružė, director of a primary school; Tautvydas Beinoras, educator, representative of the Association of No-till and Sustainable Farming Lithuania; Laurynas Kaučikas, farmer, biologist, educator;  Justas Gulbinas, ecologist, representative of NGO “Baltic Environmental Forum Lithuania”. The Lithuanian CoP will continue to grow, offering new opportunities to expand perspectives on soil health education.
